1. How to Calculate Required Transformer Capacity
Formula: kVA = Load Power (kW) ÷ Power Factor (typically 0.8)
Example: 50kW equipment → 50 ÷ 0.8 = 62.5kVA (select 63kVA model)
2. What is a K-rated transformer?
A K-rated transformer is a dry-type transformer specifically designed for non-linear loads (such as variable frequency drives, LED lighting, IT equipment). It can withstand the additional heat and electromagnetic stress caused by harmonic currents, preventing overload damage due to harmonic losses that occur in conventional transformers.
3. What is a self-coupled transformer?
A self-coupled transformer is a single-winding transformer that achieves voltage conversion via taps on a common winding. Unlike dual-winding isolation transformers, it does not provide electrical isolation between primary and secondary circuits. Instead, it offers a compact, efficient solution for applications requiring step-up or step-down within the same system. GE Transformer’s autotransformers are used for motor starting, voltage conversion, and equipment designed for non-standard power supply voltages without requiring isolation.
4. What is a Drive Isolation Transformer?
A drive isolation transformer is a specialized isolation transformer designed for variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo drives, and motor control systems. It addresses issues like harmonic interference, voltage fluctuations, and ground loops to ensure stable operation of drive systems.
5. What is a Harmonic Suppression Transformer?
A harmonic suppression transformer is a specialized transformer designed for nonlinear loads such as variable frequency drives (VFDs), IT equipment, and LED lighting. Through optimized electromagnetic structure and shielding technology, it actively cancels or attenuates harmonic currents. This prevents traditional transformers from overheating and failing due to harmonics while protecting grid power quality.
6. What are your payment methods?
Payment methods: Telegraphic Transfer (TT), Western Union, Letter of Credit (L/C).
7. Can dry-type isolation transformers be installed outdoors?
Yes. When equipped with an IP54 or higher-rated protective enclosure, these transformers are suitable for outdoor or humid environments.
